Chikankari is a traditional embroidery style of Lucknow which exquisitely balances beauty and delicate style of embroidery. It is known to be crafted on variety of fabrics mostly on crepe chiffon, Georgette and silk but one point of consideration is that the fabric has to be light in color and texture to highlight the patterns of embroidery. Now a days mukaish, sequins beads and mirrors are also used to enhance the beauty. Though one can use chikankari dresses on various occasions but personally here are my five favorite styles.
